West Michigan and COVID-19

The continued spread of COVID-19 has been putting more and more people at risk of contracting the virus. However, as with most diseases, there are certain groups of people that are at higher risk of serious complication than others.

The future of website creation is here.

COVID-19
has swept across the nation in the last few weeks, and life has changed
drastically. Even in West Michigan, businesses, organizations, and people
everywhere are feeling the impact of the virus.

We
love being a part of the West Michigan community, even when the going gets
tough. We’re so proud to be members of a community that bands together to fight
this pandemic.

In
honor of our home, here are some ways the West Michigan community is fighting
the COVID-19 outbreak.

Distant but Connected

West
Michigan is built on the idea of community. Everyone here tries to be kind to
each other in a display that we call, “West Michigan nice.”

That
hasn’t changed, even with social distancing in place. People in our community
have been organizing ways to give back, whether it’s scavenger hunting,
conversations from six feet away, or organizing food banks for those in need.
Our community may not be perfect, but West Michigan is doing what it can to
weather the storm together.

Stepping Up

Several
local businesses are doing what they can to help out. Even though many of them
are not typically in the medical device industry, many have put aside their
normal day-to-day business in favor of helping provide personal protective
equipment (PPE) and other products and parts that will aid in the resolution of
the pandemic.

Local
breweries have begun using their alcohol to make hand sanitizer. Manufacturing
companies are working to create much-needed parts for ventilators and PPE. Even
some of our hospitals are accepting donations from the public. We’re all
working together to do what we can to stop the spread of the virus, all while
practicing social distancing.

Working Hard

For
those industries that have been deemed “essential,” it’s more important than
ever to continue producing items that can help in the fight against COVID-19.

Our
team is focusing on creating medical devices that can also combat cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease is the number
one underlying cause of mortality in COVID-19 patients. By creating medical
devices that can be used to help manage these conditions, we’re helping to
improve patient outcomes, both for patients with and without the virus.

Do
you need help creating medical devices during this pandemic? Have you had a
disruption in your normal medical device supply chain? We’re here to help.
