Throughout the past few years, advances in wearable technology has brought it from pop culture to the medical industry. Devices like smart watches, smart glasses, VR headsets, and more have been adapted to become essential and convenient medical devices.
In fact, even smart phones have recently been transformed into medical devices because of how widespread and user-friendly they are.
We expect to see this trend continue throughout this year. Since wearable technology and smart devices are becoming more mainstream, we expect that this touchpoint will be explored in the future with new programs, apps, and even games.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare has been on the rise, and we don’t expect it to stop any time soon. These programs are capable of running complex equations and noticing trends in data, which makes them invaluable to our industry.

Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, has opened the door to medical innovations throughout the past few years. Applications of this technology have included custom casts, devices that are crafted out of biomaterial, and more.
In fact, our team is contributing to innovations in 3D printing through our collaboration with Grand Valley State University and the applied Medical Device Institute.
As 2020 continues, we expect to see wider spread applications for this technology, both for customizability and versatility. 3D printed organs may sound like something from science-fiction, but they are something that have already been in the works and we expect to see more advances in that technology in the year to come.
